Artist Mavis Muller (www.mavismullerart.com) coordinated the human/natural materials mosaic. The nonprofit organization Cook Inletkeeper (www.inletkeeper.org) sponsored the event, along with Alaska Youth for Environmental Action (www.ayea.org), Kachemak Bay Conservation Society, Sustainable Homer, and Alaska Marine Conservation Council (www.akmarine.org). Images from the event will be sent to the U.S. Congress and to the United Nations Climate Change Convention in Copenhagen, Denmark, in December 2009, to press for strong action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from coal and other fossil fuels.
